There is nothing that the Trump-detractors would love more (they have said so) than to see this country go into a huge recession anytime between now and election day. So be careful about believing anything you read from sources like that.

As for ECRI that you mentioned earlier - their huge blunders are a matter of record for anyone who has followed them for very long. He's a nice guy, but that's about all I can say about him.

It sounds to me like you are saying that you believe you can time the stock market based on making correct predictions about recessions. Do I have that right?

If so, you would be the mighty rare individual who could do it. Even the best of the best, Bob Brinker, is only correct about 50% of the time.

Matter of fact, he sent out a "special bulletin" to his subscribers just this past week. He is VERY BULLISH.

Do you know who John Bogle was? He recently passed. He was the founder of Vanguard Group, and an amazing financial guru. He actually said that timing the stock market and predicting tops and bottoms, could not be done consistently.

I say it can be done some of the time, but when mistakes are made, it can hurt - unless you are so independently wealthy that you can afford to miss out on the growth days.
