[ Year 2000 stocks ]

Sandra,

I didn't get to see what the analysts on CNBC were saying about the Y2k problem, but I believe that the problems are very real, and will attract greater attention as the deadline closes. Though many people think that these Y2k stocks are dead after the new millenium, I still think that there will be a number of companies out there who will not meet the deadline, and will need equivalent services afterwards. Of course, the current surge in demand for Y2k services will only invite more entries into the industry and would hence reduce the profits for all parties involved. The long term stocks to pick IMO are the ones that are led by management teams that plan to use their leading position in the marketplace as a springboard into diversifying into other related businesses whose fortunes are not so tied to a once in a millenium deadline.

Regards,

Rainier
