Telia, Telxius Team Up for Multiple Terabits March 13th, 2019 Two major European infrastructure players have inked a major network capacity agreement. Telia Carrier and Telxius have announced a deal that will pair up Telia's global network with a major pile of transatlantic capacity on Telxius's MAREA cable system. The deal covers multiple terabits on the new transatlantic cable system, which stretches between Sopelana, Spain and Virginia Beach, Virginia and had an initial design capacity of 160Tbps. The deal will give Telia not only more capacity across the Atlantic, but an diverse route that can reduce latency between various markets. Telxius was spun off from Telefonica a few years ago, and operates both MAREA and BRUSA alongside a portfolio of some 87,000km undersea route miles plus 16.7K towers. I wonder if Telia Carrier will be taking a ride on BRUSA as well. [Read more ?]
