2016 was actually a rebound year. Really, the softening of some of the metrics occurred in 2015 and the stock market went nowhere that year and then reached a low of Feb'16, if you remember. I didn't make any moves that year. I just held onto my 60/40 portfolio of stocks and bonds through both those years and into 2017. I started lightening up in 2017 and now I'm mostly in short dated bonds 1-3 yrs with about 5 years of cash equivalents in <1 short dated bonds. I'm more conservative than I've been in 20 years.
