Replying on this thread to your message from Honey Bee's thread, because I got banned from her thread.

I agree Trump is not the full cause of the deficit. I think we place too much blame on Presidents in general. However, he does seem to take the Cheney posture of "deficits don't matter". I think they do. History has proven they do. Japan is our future, unless we change course. We'll have to see if we can be smarter than Japan. In the mean time, we're seeing a lot of economic indicators rolling over, which makes me think we're headed for a recession, probably in the next couple quarters. At the minimum, I bet we'll see an earnings recession in 2019, because the 2019 SP500 EPS comparisons against 2018 will be very tough. 2018 was a stellar EPS year, because of Trump's policies and tax cuts. But the tax cut impact is waining.
