Japan is our future, but before that, we become a combo of Venezuela and Somalia because of open borders and immigration. The Liberals have won... so issues like deficits and climate change are problems for future immigrants... not ours.

As for the recession, we will have a soft 2019 because of the FED. They run the show. A soft 2019 will setup a much better economy and market for 2020... just in time for the election... As if someone planned it that way.

About the deficit. I have been a fiscal conservative and have not supportive of deficit spending. But, in addition to not caring, I think the current budget deficits are the lessor of 2 evils;

Yes, the deficits will be bad some day when we become like Japan.

But, in the here and now, the national pension problem is real and will many destroy states, all at the same time.

A rising stock market is the only solution for pension burdened states like Illinois. Trump's tax cuts and the budget deficits are tools to prop up the market directly and rescue these underfunded pension funds indirectly.

Do a mental exercise and balance the federal budget while QE is unwinding. The market should be expected to fall some amount (20%) and then many pension funds are insolvent with no hope of recovery. Local governments will then raise taxes and squeeze money from the working class to fund the leisure class (many who have left the taxing jurisdiction). There is just no happy outcome.

That is my thinking.
