I wonder what the exact crime is for paying a college to admit your child? Bribery? Is all bribery illegal?

I hope they throw the book at these people that stepped over the line. But I wonder where is the line. Giving your child loads of test prep seems fine. Having someone give him the answers in advance may be illegal, but it seems like the giving the answers in advance is more illegal than receiving of the answers in advance.

And it could be argued that a private school has the right to admit whoever it chooses, in whatever process it chooses. Perhaps.
Going to be interesting to watch where this one goes.
