Mergers of major companies almost never result in lower prices for consumers, only higher ones. It lessens competition, and the less competition there is, the higher prices tend to go.

Thanks for posting the details. I'd heard only that AT&T was raising prices, not that they were changing the bundles and dropping some channels (though HBO being included is a nice plus).

I'm very much looking forward to Apple's announcement on March 25th for whatever streaming bundle they'll be introducing. I'm hoping it'll be priced lower than competing services while offering the channels I want. I'll jettison PS Vue and its $55+/month (with taxes) in a heartbeat for a comparable service from Apple. Unfortunately, Apple doesn't have a history of offering services at a lower price than competitors, at best they usually match them.

Still, if they come up with a better, more intuitive cloud DVR than I've experienced with PS Vue and DirecTV Now, I'll jump on it. PS Vue has some truly brain dead interface quirks and DirecTV Now isn't much better.
