Here is my take on the present state of politics.

The historical existential revolution started in the 60’s, and now spread worldwide by the internet, and the attendant manifestations made possible by said revolution, like newly emancipated and enlightened, women, kids and minorities is reaping the reward of a much safer and fairer world for females, and all people who have been the victims of racism, caste systems and homophobia for eternity.

“On March 8, International Women's Day 2019, was celebrated and acknowledged around the world as women and men join forces to further the push for gender equality.”

The rise of "enlightened " females, kids and minorities is dramatic, and going to be a game changer to help rebuild the middle class in our country, and assist the poor and downtrodden in societies throughout the world.! They are pursuing humanitarian policies based on logic and compassion to help our general society to provide a good quality life for the entire nation and indeed world.

Women around the world are making huge strides toward a more humane planet. In the USA, this is probably the smartest and most decent House of Representatives in history, because of the historic increase in the number of enlightened women. Now almost half the Democrats in the House of Representatives.

The new crop of women in the house of Representatives is functioning at a whole new level above the traditional members, with regard to intellect, ethics and advocacy. One just has to do a search for almost any of them, like Ellisa Slotnik of MI. They are pursuing suspected criminality and enemies of humanity, like separating children from their parents, or income inequality and advocating needed social programs long ignored, and is the hallmark of this new crop of legislators.

The women are articulate and on point when they question the people who have knowledge of criminal activity. I am very optimistic going forward with so many women now having real power in congress to change things for the better. And day after day the women and Democrats are gaining power to effect smart, humanitarian policies most of us agree are needed.

The new house of Representatives, led by the women and liberals, is going to be a tour de force to check the plutocratic and autocratic forces destroying our society for the reason of enriching the rich even more. We have one of the highest income inequalities in the world which is a cancer on our society. And far too many people living at the poverty level, given how rich a nation we are.

And the perfect example of these new women is the powerful "House Financial Oversight Committee", chaired by Maxine Waters. I am very happy that she and Pelossi put both Alexandria Ocassio Cortez (AOC) and Katie Porter on it. Two of the toughest and smartest and decent Democrats we have to go up against the plutocrats and autocrats in control of our country. That committee has jurisdiction over all the banks, Wall street and financial services.

It is important to understand that this country has had major policy control by the plutocrats (super rich) for much of the last 50 years and the shameful tax cuts for the rich and Citizens United are good examples; and who have been using the Republican party primarily, to maintain control and make laws to their advantage e.g. tax cuts for the rich, destroying our needed social programs, raping the environment and getting rid of regulations that protect us.

Quite simply, the rich are using their power to their best advantage with disregard for what is best for society as a whole, and that is inherently bad for most of the rest of us! When in history have the rich ever looked out for the best interests of the people under their control? Democracy has allowed the common people to elect leaders and policies best for the society as a whole and check those who would engage in self serving behavior. And now we are seeing that in action.

For example, Katie Porter, a new member of the house of representatives was a UC Irving law professor, graduated Magna Cum Laude from Harvard Law school, and was appointed by Kamala Harris to be an independent monitor of banks in California in a 25 billion dollar deal. (See notes below). And AOC is a tour de force on her own :>)!

Maxine Water’s committee is going to confront the bankers, Wall street and plutocrats and be a major force in reestablishing the rule of law and mitigating the income inequality and furthering humanity in this country. This is something long overdue and IMO has been put off by all politicians until now because they feared the strength of the plutocrats, wall street and big corporations. Income inequality has continued to worsen with no abatement to date.

But these women are fearless, trust me, and will get the job done where everyone else has failed.

The United States House Committee on Financial Services, also referred to as the House Banking Committee and formerly known as the Committee on Banking and Currency, is the committee of the United States House of Representatives that oversees the entire financial services industry, including the securities, insurance, banking and housing industries. The Financial Services Committee also oversees the work of the Federal Reserve, the United States Department of the Treasury, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and other financial services regulators. It is currently chaired by Democrat Maxine Waters from California. Waters was elected as chair of the committee, and assumed office on January 3, 2019.

"In 2006, Porter joined the faculty of the University of Iowa College of Law. [7] In March 2012, California Attorney General Kamala Harris appointed Porter to be the state's independent monitor of banks in a nationwide $25-billion mortgage settlement. [8] As monitor, she oversaw the banks' implementation of $9.5 billion in settlement reforms for Californians. [9]
Porter is a tenured professor at the University of California, Irvine School of Law. [4]

Huh. Assuming that is accurate, the two parties had roughly the same percentage until the 1990s.

What could have changed?

Oh yeah. The Republicans finally got serious about purging of everyone but extreme conservatives.
