If aipn does release a summary through Millennium about the siesmic results should we automatically expect there to be highly positive statements made about the quality of the data and what it might imply?

Sorry, crystal ball is broke. I don't know what that data will imply or confirm. I ain't there.

However, to answer your question in general speculation. IS Chikuduk the formation that the well blowout occur? Then I would suspect this narrowed grid pattern, in conjunction with the existing data, and if that data is confirmed by the newer, it will better define the traps/fractures/layers of earth that possible hydrocarbons could exist. It can be further speculated due to thickness of that zone, a certain degree of hypothosising that there exist X amounts of hydrocarbons.

Flipside, what if you have widely differing readings between new and old? Then what? Ooopppsss.

I've seen companies go into area's, do the preliminary siesmic, hold it for awhile and then relinquish without drilling a well. The press release will be a simple, siesmic geophysical study concludes that there is no or insignificant chance of hydrocarbons. BYE!

So yes there are instances that PR releases will indicate that. However, this company has already evaluated part of this lease and a couple of area's, stating that 1.2 bil potential bbls of hydrocarbons.

See isn't the oil industry a real egnima!! Worse than lawyers. Night!
