UK: ICY ARCTIC WINDS TO PLUNGE THE MERCURY BACK BELOW ZERO — HAIL AND SNOW AGAIN IN THE FORECAST
MARCH 21, 2019 CAP ALLON

A cold front driven by 100km/h gales will sweep the UK later on Friday, triggering a dramatic return to freezing conditions.

Government forecasters said to “enjoy the [relatively mild] weather while it lasts” with winter set to take another swipe come the end of the week.

After temperatures hit 18C (64.4F) in parts of the country on Wednesday, the mercury will widely plunge to bitterly lows of -3C (26.6F) over the weekend with icy polar gusts making it feel closer to -5C (23F) in parts of northern Britain. Even far southern regions will see temperatures sink to 2C (35.6F) in the wind.

Winter isn’t done with you yet UK.

Swings between extremes.
