Trump was questioned about it by Maria Bartiroma today, and I felt he responded cogently. It is a fact that McCain intentionally spread false claims about Trump, a literal smear job by the Democrats (I’m speaking of the dossier), which McCain knew or should have know was comprised of a series of outright liberal lies against Trump. Then, McCain for spite, cast the deciding vote to kill the healthcare reform bill after McCain himself had previously supported similar legislation. This, Trump took personally but the American people were the losers. I was part of a discussion this morning among several former navy pilots who were really hard on McCain, which surprised me. They were not speaking approvingly about him, and none are rabid Trump fans. I try not to “speak I’ll of the dead,” at least the recently died, and I’ve always respected the hardship McCain went through in Hanoi. But he deserves some of the criticism, I think.
