| | | | Yes, agree with you completely. All of that was very unfortunate. I think she was having a bad day or something and then misfired, multiple times. The way I see it, it is better to know who people really are sooner, rather than later. That way, you don't make the mistake of counting on them when the chips are really down. Also, I find the psychology of these threads to be an interesting microcosm that can explain the macrocosm of our country. There is way too much extremism right now. People are forgetting what our freedoms are and how to protect them. In addition, they are forgetting how to have civil debate and stay friends with people that disagree with them. That is a foundational element of a cohesive society. Without it, countries tear themselves apart. Anyway, it's good we still have boards like these and moderators like you who value Freedom of Speech and love a good debate! Otherwise, if these threads got too extreme with all the threats, banning, and vitriol, I would spend less time on SI. |
