We should not be too thrilled to have been selected to produce the next generation because all too often women are forced to make do with less bad than the other choices, rather than their idea of perfection.

Your toothy grin might have been enough to swing it compared with the sour scowls of your competitors. Jack the junior should do well with the combination of said toothy grin combined with the good attributes of your merciful lady.

Women are extreme racists and mercilessly reject swarms of unsuitable suitors, choosing only the best genetic material to propagate their mitochondria and attached DNA history.

Men are generally not racist and will assist any available woman with breeding (though that's circumscribed these days with the economic imperatives of paternal liability).

With 7 billion of us we must be more successful than any other mammal. Even mice and rats are probably fewer. Certainly we are beating any large mammals. And we have tv and mobile Cyberspace, A380s and electric bicycles. We don't even have to be able to run away from lions which is fortunate because the average Kim the Fatter waddling speed would mean coming last in any running race.
