I >>Bullshit is, by definition, untrue.

Bullshit, in this context, doesn’t imply untruth. It may be truth but unserious. The term is more accurately defined as nonsense. Like, “I grab 'em by the Pussy.” Untrue claim but not an “assault” which numerous major news organizations accused him of.

Bullshitting also encompasses comments like, “Lock her up.” Or, “Russia, if you’ve got the emails...”

These are not literal statements. They are not lies. They are bullshit. Nonsense.

This is the meaning of bullshit, in context, and generally understood wherever I’ve been. My dad commonly used the word 40 years ago in connection with one of my friends. “He's a bullshitter.” That didn’t mean liar, it meant he talks bullshit or speaks nonsense.

You see it as a character flaw perhaps. But it is because you are an extremely serious person. (My bullshitter friend is one of the most extreme Dems you’d ever meet, and he doesn’t bullshit much anymore).

It is a term with multiple implications.
