And you don't seem to care about them

I care about them personally, but they are not illegal. For example, in 1998 the people who were outraged at Clinton were outraged about oral sex, which isn’t a crime. But in the impeachment, the charges were about purgery, which of course is a crime. The ordinary people who were offended wanted him impeached of oral sex, but it simply want an impeachable offense. At worst it was a moral failing (I have made other issues in the past, but they are hard cases so I won’t go there).

I can’t think of any circumstance where I think morals ought to cross roads with government, any more than I think religion should.

As to SDNY, these are clearly politically motivated. I do not see anything there that SHOULD be investigated. A lot of these issues are things I’m knowledge about, although outside the realm of taxation I have no particular expertise. I have handled tax matters under FBI investigation while the clients were charged with fraud and RICO cases in real estate dealings, so I have a good sense of what “normal” is, although my clients were not billionaires at the time.

In the financial area, the charges appear to be fishing expeditions which are outlawed by IRS Revenue Procedures. The FBI, of course, can get away with murder.

Anything based on Cohen's testimony should be quickly shut down and discarded. The efforts to glimpse Trump's tax returns, same thing. The Foundation, has already been charged, and those charges would not be levied against ANYONE who wasn’t Trump or Al Capone. It just wouldn’t happen. All of the money except one minor clerical error ultimately made its way to qualified charitable causes. I don’t think anyone can find a similar case. The $8 million penalty would be hiway robbery and I would be disappointed if he didn’t shove that down that woman's throat. She should be the one getting charged.
