" ... it's a bulwark of our Democracy" IT MOST CERTAINLY IS !! Your Founding Fathers were not stupid. They knew very well the DANGERS of using the "Popular Vote" principle. That would OBVIOUSLY RESULT in a handful of highly populated States from "Running America" to the highly probable detriment of the less populated States. Needless to say, the "Political Sway" in those highly populated States would influence actions of Government, interpretations of the Constitution, etc, etc... As things currently stand the more populated East and West coasts would hold sway while Middle America would end up "sucking the hind tit". This, of course, IS EXACTLY WHAT THE EXTREME LEFTISTS AND SOCIALISTS WOULD AIM FOR BECAUSE IT GIVES THEM CONTROL WITH THE ULTIMATE AIM OF FORCING THEIR AGENDA AND WARPED IDEOLOGY ON AMERICAN CITIZENS. AND CONTROL IS WHAT THEY ULTIMATELY LIVE AND BREATH FOR !!
