No other site has forced me to "approve" their use of cookies.

It's not possible for anyone to be absolutely certain that spyware or malware
was not being installed. I was prepared to leave SI. I suspect other long

time users did leave and haven't returned.

Have you checked how many haven't posted since the mandatory, 'I approve'.?

I was quite surprised by the small number of posts to my SubjectMarked boards
during the 2 months I was absent.

I will keep the new laptop. I won't use it at any sites where I do taxes, banking or

enter a userid/passwords.

While you're probably being honest in your reply, I can't be absolutely certain; and

I still find the implementation approach repugnant.
