Gary, <<Will there come a point in time when gold will be desireable to the "statists"? What will the conditions be?>> Good question ..... closest I could come - when the G7 books are balanced - so obviously not for a while. IMO it would be difficult (near impoossible)to go to a gold standard with a large debt. I have a sense though (no real proof) that the long-term goal, is to make an attempt at returning to the gold standard. MB
