Did not see the article but just a note:

A 50% loss will wipe out a 100% gain. In your example Korea was off 69% last year, so let's say it started out at 100. It would have ended last year at 41, (69% loss). Now a 51% gain on 41 is 41*.51=21, so the market at year end would have recovered to 62, (41+21). Still considerably off it's previous level of 100 in our example.

I think this is how PF and Fuchi make money in the market.
