Tom,
I agree with your statement "Let the earnings take care of this nonsense...". They always seem to long term. I think the earnings are extremely important but I also think that the conference call that the company has in conjunction with the release is just as important. My understanding is that CPQ has made statements that earnings will be nominally effected by Asia. I would think that they would want to hammer that point home in the call. I would also think that they would want to address how they see the business growing over the next year or so. Also, hammering home the point that they are on target to becoming the $50 billion dollar company would not be bad either.

I am not sure that the effect of a Lucy Painter can be negated, but CPQ executives, on the conference call, can give it one heck of a shot. -Keith-
