CEO Borje Ekholm told reporters today that Ericsson’s radios have been “ 5G-ready since 2015 and can be used also for 5G NR (New Radio) with a remote software installation.” Today both Ericsson and Nokia announced they have 16 commercial 5G deals with publicly named service providers. . By contrast, Huawei has an inherently insecure 5g system which is not backward-compatible with 3g, 4g or 4g-LTE. . It will take Huawei another couple of years to migrate off their obsolete and insecure and non-compatible 5g platform ! *Now that's a real first*. But no one has yet announced plans to follow Huawei down the drain.
