You are absolutely correct.

My assertion, however, isn't that the Everen/Kugler argument is wrong; just that it is not guaranteed correct. Occam's Razor does lead us in that direction, though.

However, I have been told by Kugler that he was asked by Principal, not Everen, to quit posting and that seeing the name of one of their people flung around on the internet was one of the reasons cited.

It may very well be that Kugler was asked to quit posting at least indirectly because of Everen, but it is not certain. And even if it were certain, it would not excuse Pugs' actions, IMO.
