A mother was able to stop the attempted abduction of her daughter by a Muslim in a West Virginia shopping mall, all because mother had a legal firearm with her.

According to WCHS, a man from Egypt was arrested after a woman held him off with her firearm in a mall in Barboursville, WV.

According to police, Zayan did not speak any English and had been living in a local motel.

He may have been working in the U.S. as an engineer.

Police say Zayan grabbed the 5-year-old girl by her hair and tried to drag her out of the Barboursville shopping mall.

But mother wasn’t about to let that happen:

Barboursville police said the mother then pulled a gun and told him to let her go. Police said the mother called mall security and along with Barboursville police, detained Zayan near the food court.

Zayan’s bond was set at $200,000 cash only.

And what was the upshot of this story?

The mall manager scolded the mom because the mall is a “gun free zone.”

Seriously.
