Doug: It is either a gamble to buy today or it is not. The only way it is not a gamble is if the buyer knows or has strong indications of good earnings.

With respect to House's appearance on squawk box. His appearance is all of a piece with the new marketing effort which concerns itself not only with brand and product but also share price. A better share price helps with acquisitions.

I hope he has learned from his last appearance not to be moved off message by CNBC twitterers. He should talk about what he wants to talk about, not react to them.

I would be more pleased if he appeared on CNN Lou Dobbs or PBS Wall Street Week - but that will come.
