There is a lesson for diamond investors in what has happened, and that lesson is that diamond explorers and diamond miners must focus on alluvials and pipes that contain BIG diamonds with a decent percentage of type II diamonds. Here is an example of an up and coming diamond miner:

Rio Tinto is correctly focussed on evaluating Star's pipes as they carry large diamond with a signifiant percentage of type II diamond. In this case, the hurdle is overall grade as it is costly to strip 100 meters of overburden and deal with ground water.

Investors should have that same focus
