tI mentioned in my post.. I am fine financially.. No 1%er.. but really fine ::0) My kids do have that advantage.. They got lots of opportunity other kids did not.. Life will never be equal.. Life is not fair.. it just is.. I think simply that it behooves us to set a baseline.. of good education.. good healthcare.. basic income.. This is not redistribution of wealth.. it is an investment.. I would be pissed with a high er tax rate.. really pissed... I worked had to make my dough.. The kids of that unwed mom.. I know a mom from Jamaica .. 5 kids.. 3 fathers..I know white women like that also.that go nowhere.. . ,, The five kids are all doing fine.. mother did a great job.. why she put herself through the stress of loser men I'll never know.. 4 kids self employed.. one in government and will be in foreign service.. that one was my daughter's friend and spent a lot of time with us.. like a third kid.. taught her to ski at our chalet ..So yes wife and I gave that kid more opportunity .. She wished she could figure skate like my kid.. but I was not financing that.. I did teach her to skate though.. Nice to be in Canada with good educational reasonable rates.. universal healthcare.. these kids (young adults) all add to the economy.. .. The mom owns her own home.. Think of universal healthcare as a leg up.. and the good relatively cheap deduction similarly.. As a child I was very sickly.. we had no universal healthcare.. were it not flor a strong extended family helping out financially I would not be here to bug SIers :) I was lucky.. many are not.. I do not believe in legislating equality of outcomes.. ghat is a mugs game.. I just believe in a baseline.. what folks accomplish or do not after that is totally on them.. they have no right to whine if they have these basic tools..
