I don't know for sure one way or the other. But I agree with you that there probably are some govt. benefits available to legal immigrants, esp. those that come in under refugee status. It would be cruel to take a family out of a refugee camp and just dump them somewhere in the US with no assistance. Churches can't do that much anymore. The numbers of 'religious' or churchgoers keeps declining.
