Have no tue answer, the clearer part is that methane deposits within the earth crust are from various times, and the earth climate is changing for a variety of reason, which is too lengthy to explain in a short post.

It depends on the earth orbit around the sun and its tilt which is not stable, and periodically changes in cyclical variations in the Earth's climate occur at multiple time scales, from years to decades, centuries, and millennia. Cycles at each scale are caused by a variety of physical mechanisms. Climate over any given period is an expression of all of these nested mechanisms and cycles operating together.

As to human activity the more recent agronomic including farm animal husbandry and growth on human population induced the very meaningful change in the earth atmosphere, and took the earth climate of its natural balance. As a general observation to best of my knowledge the natural albedo (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albedo ) of the earth is around 54% or in other words around 54% of the solar energy is reflected back to space.

GHG are a cover that the internal molecular resonance of those gases capture the photon frequency of the albedo of the earth energy reflection into the outer space, and lowering it, and by this distorting the natural climate cycle, which is a re-enforcing mechanism trough more NG emissions and substantial more microbial activity that by itself releases CH4 a GHG.

The true realistic and human solution is unpopular and is related to lowering the number of people on our planet by lowering the birth rate below the sustainable rate, which is today around 2.2 or 2.4 per couple to best of my knowledge. Fewer children are better for future generations.

This will induce humanely over time to a lower earth population and as a result a lower level of general consumption of all goods and economic activity which directly affects the emission of GHG. Where the actual balance lies I have no knowledge, but 2 billion fewer humans on earth will greatly benefit the quality of life of the remaining 5 billion (http://www.worldometers.info/world-population/ )
