We all remember the greatest entrepreneur (Jobs) was fired from his own company, went and founded a couple other businesses

Totally different situation. Something that, in fact, is common in Silicon Valley. Ever hear of Alan Shugart? He developed the 8 inch floppy drive while at IBM. IBM treated it as a minor product, an upgrade for keypunches. The drives were hard sectored for 80 characters, a card image. Alan wasn't happy, he saw more potential. So he left and founded Shugart Technologies to exploit the technology. He hit a home run when they developed the 5 1/4 inch floppy drive. And promptly shut out of his own company. He then went and founded Seagate Technologies. Which hit a home run when they developed the 5 1/4 inch hard drive. Ad promptly got shut out...

You know the drill. I think he became an angel investor after that. And then there was Nolan Bushnell. Who founder Atari. Same story. But, none of them failed. Their companies just grew to the point where they just didn't have the skill set to take it any further. Unlike Trump, they didn't pay too much for their acquisitions and then mis-managed them into the ground, losing billions of other people's money in the process.
