update

(1) the coconut got a scholarship at the academy of performing arts in hk. without knowing details I counselled that she should give it back. then I found out it merit-based. so she banked it.

her intensive starts next week w/ the royal ballet school. she is reading ahead in her academic school so she would not fall behind during her dance intensive. no one told her to do so.

(2) re coconut's sat Message 32099648 , the school counsellor says given the case as the coconut is on-track to tick all the boxes, simply keep enjoying what she likes to do, at the highest level, and noted a bunch of interesting advice including engaging w/ and interacting with adults of various ages in her areas of interest

(3) Re the jack and this episode Message 32079518 I got the backstory:

- jack in Montessori is in a class room populated by group of 17 kids deliberately ranging from age 7-9, and as the kids progress, the older kids leads the younger kids, as would be in a society. But jack's friends all older than jack and would be leaving the room (of 18 kids each room) in the coming school year, and

- so jack asked mother to take an exam (MAP standardised test) required for entry into the school the coconut is attending

- normally when jack takes the MAP test for any semester, he scales in at ~70 percentile ... just enough to pass but not enough to cause work

- in the MAP test that mattered, to gain entry to the new school, he scored 94 percentile

- now he is in trouble ;0) because now we know he can "do it". I noted so, and he grinned.

- it would appear, possibly, that my fear was valid, that jack is out-fooling my wife and I more so than I did with my mom and dad. Very good, but whoa, nerves!
