I agree with you whole-heartedly. In addition, the one thing that
plagues point sources is the ability to collimate the output. A point
source spreads it's light into a sphere or portion of a sphere and
eminates outward in that shape. For this to be usable, the xrays
have to be collected and focused into a beam. This was one of the
biggest challenges for the Reagan SDI initiative, and to my knowledge
an effective xray reflector has yet to be found. The closest anyone
has come is for soft xray (aka EUV) and the multi-layered reflectors
they use are extremely difficult to fabricate and are ineffecient
(<70% reflective) on their best days.

I, like you tend to read through marketing hype. However, if JMAR
does come up with a small, collimated point source, it will address
one of the key issues with xray.
