<..I would add LU..>

Haven't heard who they collaborated with on their ADSL lite product announced today, but AWRE is certainly a possible LU buyout candidate. I WOULDN'T think INTC or CPQ would be involved, and I absolutely don't see TXN or ROK. Both 3COM and ASND are possible, as well as an even more likely ADI. ADI itself may well be being targeted, as they have some outstanding products in a range of markets.

And though most do not expect any significant ADSL contracts to be announced for this year, AWRE's IP (for both their DMT and their patented DWMT currently being applied to cable) make them a particularly interesting target.

Of publicly traded DSL companies, I primarily see AWRE and PAIR (with PAIR the far more attractive for many reasons) as likely telecom/datacom company "suitees". I think WSTL may get a boost from the general focus on ADSL, but I would be very careful there, especially if they aren't mentioned in the industry announcement.
