Yes I do think it is a losing issue.


So do I. It's too broad, which means there's something in it for everyone but true believers to dislike.

There are people who are both green and "socialist" and the Green New Deal speaks to both causes. The juxtaposition of the two probably seems natural to them. But the only practical synergy between them is potential economic benefit of more green.

On the other hand, there are at least as many people who are skittish or skeptical about one or the other. The green aspect may not hurt the "socialist" aspect much but the "socialist" aspect likely would turn off many who might be otherwise supportive or at least tolerant of the green aspect. I think the GND does the green cause a disservice while the combining resonates with a more limited cohort.
