Power seeking of this kind has corroded the American public sphere wholesale. It consists of absolutely no discussion of substance at all, anymore, whatsoever, anywhere. How often have you turned on CNN or MSNBC and they’ve taught you how health care works, say, in Canada, Switzerland, or France? Never. And that’s because their corporate overlords won’t let them. There’s no profit in it?—?there’s the opposite of profit.

Canada has a decent Health Care system. But it still favors the well off as I stated in a previous post. The only reason Canada's health care works as efficiently as it does. Hospitals are operated on a cost basis by either the Provincial Government or by nonprofit organizations.
Health Care is also ran by individual Provinces / Subsidized Federally Private health Care facilities cannot qualify for federal monies. Federal subsidies would be cut off to Provinces who do not follow federal health guidelines.

Universal health care is expensive for the people. Money is collected from all citizens in the form of various taxation. Far higher personal tax than US citizens pay. Income Tax is federally 29 % for average workers then add another 48% of federal for provincial income tax. Sales tax in some provinces 14% plus another 5% GST on all purchases. then a home purchase tax Gas is $6.40 a us Gallon in BC around $3.50 of that is government tax . The tax is more than US people pay in total

License and liability on each of our trucks is over $15000 per year. Government owned auto insurance, license personal car $1400+ with perfect driving record An old car or pickup with only Liability just under $1000. Tax on launching your Boat into the water. If when on many lakes in BC there is a permit required (Tax) to stop anywhere on the lake shore to set up for the day so kids can run or picnic.

The list is endless. They are even working on a taxing a private water well on your own property. Going to call it a Ground water tax. And there is long waiting times for many treatments. Many have died within this period. The advantage is by higher taxation you are paying constantly on an ongoing basis. Not being hit all of a sudden and there is no other health care premiums or fees.

It is not a perfect system but it is still far superior to what is offered in the US. Including Obama's affordable health care. Especially great for those in the lower incomes or limited funds.

I am not a socialist at heart by any means. But the US could do much better on health care for the people that it does. Costs will never come down without nationalization of hospitals. Making them at cost, profit neutral.
