they have a long way to go to get to the point of seeing new all time highs

Yes, I wonder since the recent fundamental all time high was so positive if they will get back there for many years?

I've never paid close attention to the memory stocks during a cycle bottom, and it's super interesting. My hunch is that fundamentally they are nowhere close to bottom, with capacity still way too high relative to demand, but lets see how the next 2-3 quarters play out. I guess they need a quarter where revenues can be projected to be flat going forward, and inventories in the NAND makers are flat rather than grow. That could be an actual fundamental bottom (the share prices may rise ahead of it, or not). I don't know when we get a quarter like that, as far as I can tell prices (in NAND, at least) continue to decline, inventories continue to rise, and as long as you have those two things, those two need to repeat to flush out all that excess inventory before it becomes gross margin negative upon sale.

Hey, I thought I was banned from this board for too much discussion of SIMO? Go, SIMO, go!
