I don't worship at the altar of Bob Brinker but on balance I find him to be very credible. I don't follow anyone slavishly. I listen, I read, and listen some more. And then I make MY decisions. Stocks go up and stocks go down. I've been investing for many years and the one lesson I had to learn was: "Don't hold on to stocks going down and don't let go of stocks going up." Do that within reason and you won't get burned---at least not too much. Brinker does some trading himself (a la Intel) but he has never passed himself off as giving trading advice. He speaks mainly to mutual fund investing and at times talks about individual stocks. I'm sure that the folks who took his advice on buying Microsoft at $8 has a much different opinion of his stock picking abilities than the "UTEK Steppers."
