I have been talking public transit in Toronto extensively over the last 4 months..

It requires a COMPLETELY different way of living.. severely limits freedom of action.. and honestly Toronto transit .. except for our laughable and deplorable pseudo subway system is not bad.. Integration via Presto and the Triplinx app is pretty good.. MOntrel subway system is by comparison .. to die for.. but integration of transit systems in greater Montreal is deplorable..

Transit will NEVER be all that.. unless we are so jammed together.. that it is moot.. in my experienced opinion..

My dentist is where he has been for 35 years.. (Near my first home purchase in GTA)//

From where i am now..
  • 85$ Uber.. 35 min ride..
  • 10$ approx mixed transit ride.. depending on time of day.. 2.25-3 hrs..
  • car say 20$ gas and wear and tear.. 30=35 min
Unfortunately pub transit except for specialized cases is not different than green jobs mantra.. PT only really works when we are SEVERELY restricted in movement.. or so close to all and jammed together... that is it is almost not required.. I am happy that the future is not mine :(
