Xfinity is simply branding used by Comcast. If you subscribe to Comcast's internet and/or cell service you can log on to the internet or make calls from your portable device whenever you are in range of one of their 'hotspots'. We live in a close in surburb of Chicago, so they seem to be all over the place and we have little or no problem logging on to them instead of using chargeable cell data.
