Defining Jews as a monolithic ethnic group is missing the point. There are many ethnic branches of Jews as the definition of Jews is their perceived religion, which differ substantially from one ethnic group to another, not to mention the deep animosity between the various ethnic groups that believe in the Jewish faith, which can be very misleading. In general terms each ethnic group has its own hose of worship and specific venues of practicing their faith. Even that the Bible is basic book of references, the interpretation of the written text differ widely.

I could go on and on but even genetically the the various ethnic Jews are very different and it even expresses itself in typical ethnic diseases, character traits and body structure.

The most close example is Catholicism whose believers are so different based on the country of origin and established very different nations.
