Intel InBusiness Networking Products Help Small
Businesses Get Connected Easily and Affordably

Nine New Products Deliver Basic Connectivity, Shared Internet Access

HILLSBORO, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 20, 1998--Intel Corporation today
introduced the Intel InBusiness(TM) family of networking products designed to help small
businesses with two to 50 users interconnect their PCs and gain Internet access simply and
affordably. The products help small businesses share resources, and increase productivity and
revenue by communicating more efficiently with employees, customers and suppliers.

Intel will host an hour-long web-teleconference regarding this announcement at 9 a.m. PST
on Tuesday, Jan. 20. To attend, dial 800/231-9012 or 719/386-9000 beginning at 8:45 a.m. The
confirmation number is 416869. At the same time, please log onto the Internet and go to
www.intel.com/pressroom/kits/events/sno .

The Intel InBusiness products - ranging from $79 to $909 - have been designed from the
ground up for the small business owner who has limited time, access to technical expertise or
specialized office space to implement networking technology. The Intel InBusiness family
includes three 10 megabit-per-second (Mbps) Ethernet hubs, three 100Mbps Fast Ethernet
hubs, two Ethernet switches and the Internet Station, an Internet connectivity device.

The small business market segment is an important area of growth for Intel, said Frank Gill,
Intel executive vice president and general manager of Intel's Small Business and Networking
Group.

''There are more than 8.6 million small businesses in the United States today. They have the
most to gain in terms of competitiveness, efficiency and profitability from implementing
networking and Internet technologies,'' Gill said. ''Less than one-third of small businesses in
the United States have PCs that can communicate internally and access the Internet. Intel's
focus is to provide them with the technology and customer support they need to help manage
their business, grow sales and compete effectively.''

Kyle Westra, president of Westra & Company, a three-person residential appraisal shop in
Salt Lake City, Utah, recently installed several of the Intel InBusiness products himself and
has seen benefits in productivity and profits. ''My Intel InBusiness hub, Internet Station and
NetportExpress(TM) print server have enabled me to accomplish tasks that were frustrating
for many years, like printing to the color printer that is connected to our office manager's PC
and sharing documents and spreadsheets with my staff instead of passing disks around,''
Westra said. ''These products have enabled me to compete with the big firms downtown
because now I have the same technology. For this reason alone, the products have paid for
themselves again and again.''
