Yayyyy for the fundamentalists. Northforce, regarding batteries; chemical energy is dense. Safety, convenience, cleanliness are important. Maybe cost too with a new system like a fuel cell. A 50 watt supply would be fine for my Anita [TM] steak frying system, but a little on the warm side for an ear. They don't need to put out that many watts. They can cut the output to whatever. The storage in terms of amp-hours, kwatt-hours, etc is what matters. cdmaOne handsets need little power, 200 milliwatts for RF you say. That is measuring energy per second. And it is only a little bit of energy. Remember, a really weak torch needs only a couple of watts to make a good little light. What will matter is the size and weight of a methanol fuel cell for a cellphone. I guess they would be smaller and lighter than other battery types, but maybe a battery ace could comment. How about somebody go ask over at the battery threads? If ethanol fuelled instead of methanol, guess what Anita [TM] could have as another function!!! Piha Wave functions would be fun with a dozen cellphones handy. Great for celebrating Mighty-Q results downloaded from Globalstar. Mqurice High 30s!! Hahahahaaaa!
