Bill, you are absolutely correct about different marketing strategies, and even targeting different ethnic groups; this is not racism. I have taken a look at Nike, and I have never heard Michael Jordan say that Nike needs to get away from this "white-boy-centric stuff" and gain the "endorsement of the black community". Terms such as these sound a bit racist, and have no place in marketing. You also avoided my point; were an official of Vans to make these same comments, it would spell doom for your stock.
