Nortel reports Jan 29.

I've seen $0.72 USD expected for this quarter. I have no consensus numbers. Last I heard was NT only had 6% of balance sheet exposed to Asia. From most research reports I've seen, doesn't appear to be large exposure to Asia by NT. NN on other hand has higher exposure, something like 17% of revenues derived from AsiaPacific. However impact on most recently past quarter's earnings by Asia Crisis has been minor. There is evidence of this in ASND earnings report just released after today's closing bell - said saw minor Asian growth when excluded Japan. Also see reports by LU, MOT, INTC. In most of these reports, I see Europe and North America picking up most of slack in Asian slow down - which was not as large as people have feared, Europe was the big growth area.

I'm not worried about NT's quarter. If I see in the earnings report that though there might have been some questionable accounts created amidst Asia crisis, but I see signs that European revenues are accelerating, I'll buy even more shares.
