When friends ( 67+65 ) asked me to invest $175,000 for them, it was with the understanding
that the objective was to get a monthly income from it. When I asked what they were looking
for, he said $1000 ( 6.857% annually ) a month. I told them I could do $700 ( 4.8% annually )
or better, but not $1000. I figure it is better to under promise and over deliver than the other
way around.
Best thing is that they don't want the withdrawals to start until January 2020.
Because I will be able to reinvest almost all of what comes in this year, I decided to get the
ball rolling. Figuring as I went along, I come up with $8441 annual income, $703 a month.
Account is up $1100 with the $300 rebate, and is owed $132.05 for trades charged for, that
shouldn't have been.
Looking to add two sub 7% preferreds this week, bringing the income to $9111, $759 a month,
dropping the cash to $47,000 or 27% of the port.
Some sort of correction by year end would be nice.
