Yeah I was wondering if his son Elliot wrote it.

I looked on his FB page to see if there was a hint as to what happened. Couldn't find much other than it was sudden and happened April 30th at night. His last message was that night from an open mic session. He was really getting into his music. Mentioned something about recording. Had a few new original songs...

While scrolling through many of the message on his wall, I came across this story one of his friends wrote about:

<snip>
A month ago, at Tom's 70th birthday party, Rob told me the following story. He said that, years back, when he was selling his 2002tii, he took it for one last drive. He went up Rt 3 and wound it up to a hundred. Unfortunately, blue lights came on behind him. He honestly spilled the beans to the officer, explaining that he was selling the car, the new owner was coming to pick it up in the morning, and this was his last drive. He apologized for his exuberance. The officer remonstrated him, but was sympathetic, and wrote him up for a warning. Rob, telling the story, said "Then I figured I'd push my luck. I asked him if there was any further police presence up ahead. "I can't tell you that!" the officer protested. He walked back to his cruiser and I got back in the 2002. Then I saw him walking back to me. With a wink, he said "It's clear up to Lowell." " With Rob's warm, guile-less manner, I could easily imagine the whole thing happening.

I could imagine that too...
