Gil, excellent "long term" advice. Long term in my book means at least 5 years or more, to some it may mean 1 year. That is a point that is highly over looked when people either buy or sell, or even comment on a particular stock. Looks like IBM put out a "short term" earning warning about the next couple of quarters. IBM is already down about 6 bucks in overnight trading, I think it will be interesting to see how the market reacts to this tomorrow, this could be a change or a sign, at least short term, (the next couple of weeks).
