Sandisk misses out on another PR opportunity:

On page 190 of the Feb. 1998 issue of Wired Magazine,
Negroponte writes about Powerless Computing.

He writes that, 'Considerable power is also consumed by
a disk drive.....As it happens, there are all sorts of
other reasons to get rid of moving parts, a direction
the industry is is already pursuing.'

He goes on, '.....In fact, Intel and Toshiba have massive
programs under way in so-called flash memory, which uses
no power to hold onto data, a little to read it, and and a
little more to write it.'
