Jeffery: It wasn't all that long ago that I could have kissed Microsoft goodby without any sweat. I was using only DOS programs, NONE from MS. I had three choices of DOS. I used IBM PC-DOS, but could have used MS-DOS or DR-DOS.

Now I use Win95 and would not be without it. But I STILL don't use many other MS products, though Office has taken over the corp. world.

So I agree with your statement "Intel and Microsoft have postioned themselves so one cannot live without them. If you have a PC you probably have an Intel or Microsoft product.", but I think Iomega is doing the same thing.

I could live without my Zip drive right now. But I expect in a year or two that I couldn't.
