A quick sell off in the treasuries would hurt themselves the most and then adjust.

China is like a spoiled child that has gotten away with a lot of bad behavior.

It will take time for them to embrace the free market competitive nature of trade.

The type of economic activities they agreed with when they were allowed to join the WTO.

There quick success of cheating, stealing and denying their poor behavior is coming to an end.

They are still in the denial stage.

As the costs accumulate - their behavior will morph into compliance and "face " will have been saved.

In between the longer they take to "save face", the more supply channels will change and forever side step their involvement.

There are many countries that will clamor for the position in trade they achieved through malicious activities.

The leadership of China is smart enough to know that all lasting long term business relationships must be mutually beneficial.

There is no particular "brilliant mind" required to accept that truism.

After having been spoiled by buying off politicians, they now find themselves needing to compete fairly.

They will pout and pontificate, then come around to true competition (and smaller levels of cheating i.e. subsidies).

ALL IMHO!
